097. Transgender Emergency Fund

Changing the System, Podcast

Trans Awareness Week (November 13 – 19) is a time for transgender and gender nonconforming individuals and their allies to take action by advocacting around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that transgender individuals face. Transgender Day of Remembrance occurs November 20, when trans advocates raise awareness of the transgender community through education and advocacy activities.

Since 2008, the Transgender Emergency Fund (TEF) of Massachusetts has been providing critical assistance to low-income transgender people in MA. Once a beneficiary, Chastity Bowick now serves as the Director of the TEF.

Chastity joins Katherine and Katie to share her story and teaches us how to be better allies to the LGBTQ+ community.
